Jon Rahm switches from TaylorMade Spider X to Odyssey 2-Ball putter

Jon Rahm may have already made his move from TaylorMade to Callaway on the PGA Tour this season, but one club his new manufacturer could not get hold out of his hands was his trusty Spider X putter.

Only that all changed at the Phoenix Open last week as the World No.2 was spotted using a new Odyssey 2-Ball prototype putter en route to a tie for 13th on 13-under par at TPC Scottsdale.

Rahm, who carded all four rounds in the 60s in Arizona, will likely need to spend a bit more time testing out his new wand after he surprisingly finished 50th in strokes-gained putting ( -0.903).

He didn't seem particularly happy with his performance, either.

"Great off the tee, great iron shots, I just couldn't make them," said Rahm in Phoenix. "I could have hit a couple of them closer possibly. I wish I would have, but I just couldn't roll a couple of putts in. I couldn't really get that going."

Rahm ranked 22nd in strokes-gained putting (0.479) when using his TaylorMade Spider X putter on the PGA Tour last season - a club he relied heavily on to move to World No.1 for the first time in his career, albeit for a brief period until Dustin Johnson moved back on top.

The rest of Rahm's game proved as expected in Phoenix, ranking fourth in strokes-gained tee to green (7.13) and fourth in strokes-gained approach to the green (5.424).
