Swing Speed Radar

The first thing I noticed when I started googling around the Swing Speed Radar was that it seemed hugely popular with customers so I was excited to get it out onto the range to test.

The product claimed to accurately measure my swing speed so I decided to pit it against Flight Scope.

The first thing I noticed when I started googling around the Swing Speed Radar was that it seemed hugely popular with customers so I was excited to get it out onto the range to test.

The product claimed to accurately measure my swing speed so I decided to pit it against Flight Scope.

The first thing I noticed when unwrapping the product was that it was an underwhelming piece of kit but not in a negative way. It’s also light which means it’s easy to transport and can be carried in your golf bag.

It’s small and doesn’t turn any heads which will appeal to those who wish to go to the range to get on with improving their game rather than attracting attention.

The metal stand allows you to place the product next to your ball and then all you have to do is swing – even the most simple-minded golfer could get this working.

Unlike other radar guns, a long range compataboility is not required.  It is powered by three AA batteries and measures swing speeds from 40 to over 200 mph.

After hitting, you only have to wait a couple seconds to get your reading on the screen and it can be displayed in either kmph or mph.

When compared to Flight Scope I found there was a very small difference, and it often came out with exactly the same figure.

I hit wedges, irons and woods around 20 times each and I was impressed by the accuracy of the Swing Speed Radar.

So it’s easy to use and accurate but why would a golfer need the Swing Speed Radar?

Firstly, for golfers who want to hit it further, increasing their swing speed is crucial and this piece of equipment will reliably display the information.

When you change your swing you can see directly whether you are improving and whether the change has had the desired effect.

Also, it allow golfers to fine-tune their equipment to their game. When you know your swing speed you can get a club head which performs best with your game and most importantly you can find a shaft which is suitable.

It does seem quite expensive but it can be found for cheaper from different retailers.

Verdict

An unassuming piece of kit which is simple, accurate and useful for golfers of all abilities.
