Our score:

Data is beginning to become more and more prevalent in golf. Players and coaches are gaining a stronger understanding of what goes on in a golf swing.

Launch monitors and golf simulators are devices which collect data from the shots you hit and they have become a staple of the professional game.

The vast majority of professional golfers use launch monitors in practice rounds and on the driving range. The Full Swing KIT launch monitor (£5,000) is fully endorsed and used by Tiger Woods.

It comes with advanced radar technology and a 30-day money-back guarantee should you decide it isn't for you. This product is significantly cheaper than a device from TrackMan Golf or GCQuad.

What is the Full Swing KIT launch monitor all about?

This product gives 16 points of data and these can be accessed via the Full Swing app. The app is available on iPhone, iPad and AirPods too.

The monitor is remarkably easy to use. You take it out of the case and set it up three metres, or 10 feet, behind your ball. This is the optimum distance for it to track your shots.

If you are using the monitor indoors, you need eight feet of ball travel for the shot to be fully tracked. The product is small and can fit in your golf bag, which saves you from carrying it instead.

In terms of the app, it connects to your monitor instantly. You need to tell the app if you are using the product indoors or outdoors as well as other details.

You can customise the statistics that you would like to know about your game such as carry distance, total distance, spin rate, ball speed and club speed. The monitor's screen can show up to four different data categories.

If you use the product on the driving range, you can hit a number of shots with the same club and the data will show your dispersion and the consistency of your ball-striking.

The Full Swing KIT launch monitor contains a camera which films your swing as well. The camera stores footage of every swing you make and you can watch your swing on the app.

Strengths/Weaknesses

GolfMagic Equipment Editor Alex Lodge noticed a number of key strengths with this product such as the 16 points of data that this product provides.

This much data will give you a well-rounded analysis of where your game stands. Whether it is dispersion, distance or spin rate, you can immediately discover your strengths and weaknesses.

The Full Swing KIT launch monitor is very practical and easy to use. It is light and as it can be stored in your golf bag, using it on the golf course is no inconvenience.

From time to time, if your phone doesn't have a good signal on the golf course, which can happen regularly, the monitor won't transfer the data to your app.

This could mean you can only use your new monitor on certain holes. This still allows you to track your game and collect data, but this is something you should consider.

Verdict

The Full Swing KIT launch monitor is an expensive item. £5000 is a lot of money, however, this is the nature of the beast when you shop for such devices.

In comparison to other items from TrackMan Golf and GCQuad, this product represents good value. You must also consider the performance of the product, accuracy, ease of use and durability too.

We found this launch monitor to be very easy to use and it also provides good accuracy. The product is always improving with continuous firmware upgrades when new software is introduced. In this way, Full Swing keeps its products up to date
