The Mizuno Pro 223 irons are regarded as the 'Elite Players Cavity'. It delivers everything that tour players need to compete on demanding courses.

Alex from GolfMagic took the new Mizuno Pro 223 irons (£180 per iron) to Kings Golf Studio in East Grinstead to test their performance.

The technology used in these irons have caused a lot of excitement. They are similar to the JPX 921 Forged irons in this sense, but now they are in a smaller compact head.

The Mizuno Pro 223 irons act like a combo set which is extremely unique. The 4-7 irons come in forged chromoly with flow micro slot, while the 8-PW irons come in 1024 pure select mild carbon steel.

This is great for players who like to mix and match irons in their bag. With the Mizuno Pro 223 irons, there is no need to do this.

Alex judged them to be a distance iron as the lofts are slightly stronger than the Mizuno Pro 221 irons. They are also more forgiving.

Alex felt that the Pro 223's are not as soft as the Pro 221's, however, they have a similar amount of feel due to the copper underlay throughout the new sets.

The Mizuno Pro 223 irons are very nice looking clubs and they aren't as bulky as previous iterations. They have a similar look to the Pro 221's.

The distances that Alex hit with the Mizuno Pro 223 8-iron were very impressive and Alex preferred them to the new Pro 221 irons.

The Pro 223 irons are better suited to mid-to-low handicapped golfers. Although they are described as ideal for tour players by Mizuno, they are more forgiving than the Mizuno Pro 221's.

They act as a combo set with the bag divided by materials and this makes the Mizuno Pro 223 irons very appealing and unique.
