DP World Tour Championship: LIVE final round updates, leaderboard, highlights

Follow live final round updates of the DP World Tour's season finale in Dubai.

Masters champion Rory McIlroy begins the fourth and final round on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in the joint lead with Denmark's Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen.

The 36-year-old Northern Irishman is attempting to win the Race to Dubai for the seventh time in his career and fourth in a row.

McIlroy, ranked second in the world to Scottie Scheffler, needs to finish just second alone to win the season-long points race.

It would move him one step closer to matching Colin Montgomerie's record of eight order of merit titles.

Victory for McIlroy would cap off a remarkable year in which he triumphed at The Masters, Irish Open, Players Championship and helped Europe win the Ryder Cup on away soil.

McIlroy has a 767-point lead at the top of the season-long rankings.

His Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton and compatriot Marco Penge are the only two who can stop McIlroy from winning the season-long title.

Penge looks to be out of contention now but Hatton begins the final round one back.

Hatton needs to win the tournament and have McIlroy finish worse than tied for eighth to win it.

There is plenty to play for elsewhere, with 10 PGA Tour cards also on the line.

The winner of the DP World Tour Championship will also earn $3m.

Speaking after a final-round 67, Penge tells Sky Sports it's been "the year of my life".

"This was was disrupted [by illness] and I didn't get off to the start I wanted on Thursday, but as soon as I got off the meds I was proud of how I fought back this week."

Penge has also secured one of 10 PGA Tour cards.

"I'm looking forward to playing big events on that side of the pond," he says.

"I'll miss the players and staff and tour in general but hopefully I'll be playing as much as I can on the DP World Tour."
