A tearful Eddie Pepperell was among those to earn his card at the final stage of DP World Tour qualifying school.

The Englishman, 34, cruelly missed out by one shot 12 months ago but managed to make it through the gruelling six-round process this week in Tarragona, Spain.

Only the top 20 players and ties earned their DP World Tour privileges for the 2025/2026 campaign.

Pepperell was three outside of the projected number with four holes to play but made birdies on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th at Infinitum Golf's Lakes Course vault up the leaderboard and finish on 19-under par.

"This week felt like a bit of a struggle at times and never more so than today midway through the round, but I really hung in there," he told the official DP World Tour website.

"I am delighted. It's tough to put into words really."

He added: "I'm pretty proud of myself actually. That was a tough day [with] a great finish. I didn't have too many goals coming into these two weeks.

"I was just looking forward to playing some golf to be quite honest and hoping that I would play well.

Remarkably, Pepperell finished 18 strokes behind champion Zander Lombard.

The South African finished on a six-round total of 37-under par, firing rounds of 64, 69, 67, 64, 64 and 63 to return to the DP World Tour.

Lombard finished 13 strokes clear of second place.

Other notables who made it through include Matthew Baldwin, Shubhankar Sharma and Adri Arnaus.
