Jon Rahm has confirmed he will return to the Amgen Irish Open this September, adding even more star power to one of the strongest fields on the DP World Tour schedule.

The LIV Golf superstar will tee it up at Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg in County Clare from 10-13 September, where he will bid to win the tournament for a third time.

Rahm is a two-time Irish Open champion, having claimed his maiden DP World Tour title at Portstewart in 2017 before producing a stunning final-round comeback to win again at Lahinch in 2019. His return to Ireland comes seven years after that memorable victory on the country's west coast.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back to Ireland for the Amgen Irish Open," Rahm said. "Winning this tournament twice means a lot to me and it's always a place I enjoy playing. The courses, the fans and the challenge of links golf make it a special week."

The Spaniard's appearance follows his agreement with the DP World Tour earlier this year to settle outstanding fines and secure the releases required to remain eligible for future Ryder Cup selection.

Rahm paid the sanctions imposed following his move to LIV Golf in 2024, paving the way for him to be considered for Team Europe at the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.

The former world number one enjoyed one of the most dominant victories in Irish Open history when he won by six shots at Portstewart in 2017 after closing with a brilliant 65.

Two years later, he produced another memorable finish at Lahinch, firing a final-round 62 featuring eight birdies and an eagle to surge from outside the leading group and claim his second title.

The 31-year-old arrives in Ireland after another impressive season, which included a runner-up finish at last month's PGA Championship.

Rahm joins an already impressive list of confirmed players for this year's championship, including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard, European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, Pádraig Harrington and Séamus Power.

The Amgen Irish Open remains one of the flagship events on the DP World Tour calendar as part of the Tour's Back 9 series, with a roll of honour featuring some of the game's biggest names, including Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, José María Olazábal, Colin Montgomerie, Sam Torrance, Lowry, McIlroy and Rahm.
