Is injury-ridden Anthony Kim on the verge of a preposterous LIV Golf move?!
Golf fans began to lose their minds after rumours started to circulate former PGA Tour fan favourite Anthony Kim was set to return to the game at LIV Golf.
Golf fans began to lose their minds on social media on Thursday after rumours Anthony Kim was joining LIV Golf began to intensify.
The speculation was started by MrShort Game Golf aka Matt Fisher on YouTube.
Fisher claims that Kim - along with multiple PGA Tour winner and European Ryder Cup superstar Viktor Hovland - will be joining the breakaway.
Hovland, Fisher said, was set to join Martin Kaymer's Cleeks outfit and take a 25 per cent equity stake in the team.
That appears to be wide of the mark given SI and The Times of London claim that spot will be filled by Poland's Adrian Meronk.
Meronk was voted the DP World Tour's player of the year last season and was gearing up to play a full campaign on the PGA Tour.
But the 6ft 6ins golfer called in sick before the Farmers Insurance Open, adding more weight to the rumours he was leaving the establishment.
It has also been reported Jon Rahm is closing in on a deal that would see the World No. 16, Tyrell Hatton, join his LIV side.
Kim would undoubtedly be a huge coup for LIV given his popularity before injury ended his career prematurely at the age of 29.
Kim was tipped as the next Tiger Woods and years after his last PGA Tour win golf fans are still fascinated by him.
Just Google his name and you will find a plethora of articles headlined: "What happened to Anthony Kim?"
"It sounds preposterous, I know," said Fisher. "[But] from what my sources are telling me this is not LIV going after Anthony Kim.
"It's the other way around where Anthony Kim is pursuing LIV. That's just what I'm hearing and I don't know how true that is.
"Those are the rumours. He is sending in his swing like an audition tape so to speak [to show] he [still] really has game and he wants to be a part of this."

Kim is said to have cashed in on an insurance policy worth $10-20m, hence why he hasn't played professional golf since 2012.
As we know, an offer from LIV would undoubtedly make Kim reconsider playing again if it was large enough.
"If AK goes to LIV, it'd be must-watch TV," on user wrote on X. "I'd watch LIV to see AK again," added another.

In January, Golfweek reported Kim still does play golf, albeit infrequently.
His former coach Adam Schriber told the publication over the years he has routinely implored Kim to 'get the old clubs out'.
According to Schriber, Kim's reply was: "That's what everyone wants me to do."
LIV Golf will begin their third season in Mexico on 2 February.
