"I've had a lot of cr*p" Jena Sims drops PGA Tour / LIV Golf WAG secret
Jena Sims opens up on sliding into Brooks Koepka's DMs and then meeting him in the first round of the 2015 Masters.
Brooks Koepka's wife Jena Sims has revealed how a number of women are married to some of the world's best PGA Tour and LIV Golf players having first slid into their DMs (direct messages) on social media.
Sims, who revealed all to GOLF's Claire Rogers on The Scoop, admits she has taken a lot of flak from people over the past nine years for having first slid into Koepka's DMs back in 2015.
After a couple of months of back-and-forth DMs with the now five-time major champion, Sims told Koepka how she was going to be in the crowd in the first round of the 2015 Masters at famed Augusta National, and so they agreed to meet.
Koepka first noticed Sims on the 7th hole, and the rest they say is history.
Sims and Koepka eventually tied the knot in 2022, and then they welcomed their first child into the world in 2023.
"We were chatting for a couple of months because the season was in full swing," recalled Sims.
"I'm from [Georgia] so I had a friend who had Masters tickets. I just told Brooks, 'I'm going to be here, this would be a great opportunity for us to meet.' So I guess I made the first two moves!
"I think it was the Thursday round and I was there. I found him and he spotted me. This was during the tournament play, between holes 7 and 8, and he reached over the ropes and hugged me.
"Even the crowd around me was like, 'Oh my God, who is she? I can't believe he just stopped the tournament play to meet you.' That night - this is crazy - I met his entire family! We weren't even dating, that was our first interaction."
Sims then revealed she is not the only woman to slide into the DMs of one of the world's best players in the world, and eventually get married to them.
"I've had a lot of crap for telling the world that I slid into his DMs because it's like I went after him," said Sims.
She added: "You know what, I've spoken to a few other girls - I won't name names - but some of the women who are married to top five, top 10 players in the world also slid into their husbands' DMs. I'm just the only one who talks about it publicly."
