LIV Golf pro reveals horror injury days after competing in Dunhill Links
Wade Ormsby has revealed he suffered a partial amputation of his left ring finger in an accident at home, forcing him to withdraw from two upcoming events.
Wade Ormsby has revealed a gruesome finger injury following a horror accident at home, with the Australian golfer now set to miss upcoming tournaments on the Asian Tour.
Ormsby, 46, shared a photo of his heavily bandaged hand on Instagram, revealing he suffered a partial amputation of his left ring finger in an accident while attaching a trailer to his car.
The injury came just days after Ormsby missed the cut at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour, having finished runner-up at the Taiwan Masters a week beforehand.
Ormsby confirmed that surgeons had worked to rebuild his finger, thanking the medical professionals who treated him following the accident.

"Wednesday morning after returning home from Dunhill, I had an accident putting a trailer on the car resulting in partial amputation of L ring finger," Ormsby posted on his Instagram Story.
"Thanks to Mannum ER @sahealth... Dr Nick Smith and the team at @gripsurgery for rebuilding my finger.
"Sadly I won't be at Macau and Hong Kong Opens... but I'll work hard to be back asap."
The injury represents a significant setback for Ormsby, who had been building momentum on the Asian Tour before travelling to Scotland, where he missed the cut at the Dunhill Links after receiving a sponsor's invitation.
Ormsby played alongside England cricket legend Kevin Pietersen in the famous Pro-Am event staged at St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.
They combined to shoot 18-under par in the team event, but that saw them finish tied 74th and miss out on the final day's play on the Old Course.
Ormsby has enjoyed considerable success throughout his career, claiming five titles on the Asian Tour.
His most recent victory came at the Jakarta International Championship in 2025, where he defeated Scott Vincent in a playoff.
The Australian also claimed his only European Tour title at the Hong Kong Open in November 2017.
That tournament was co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour, where Ormsby has established himself as a proven winner.
Currently ranked 445th in the world, his recent runner-up finish at the Taiwan Masters demonstrated that he remains capable of challenging for titles.
His runner-up finish two weeks ago moved him to 12th on the 2026 Asian Tour Order of Merit.
However, his immediate focus will now be on recovering from the injury, with no confirmed timetable for his return to tournament golf.
Ormsby joined LIV Golf for its inaugural season in 2022, initially captaining Punch GC before moving into a reserve role in subsequent seasons.
The Australian featured in four events as a reserve on the league in 2026, taking his total number of LIV Golf appearances to 15.
However, uncertainty surrounds the league's proposed next chapter, with questions remaining over its future funding and commercial structure as plans for LIV Golf 2.0 continue to develop.
Whether Ormsby will have a role in the league's future remains to be seen, particularly as LIV Golf looks to establish its direction for the seasons ahead.
For now, though, his immediate priority will be recovering from his serious finger injury and returning to competitive golf as soon as possible.
After an accident that could hardly have come at a worse time, the Australian will be hoping his rehabilitation goes smoothly and he can get back on the course without a lengthy absence.
