European Ryder Cup standings 2027: Which players are going to Adare Manor?
European Ryder Cup standings: Check out how the team is shaping up for the 2027 contest against the United States at Adare Manor, Ireland.
England's Joe Dean has moved back to the top of the European Ryder Cup qualifying standings after his near miss at the Spanish Open.
Dean shared the 54-hole lead in Madrid but came unstuck down the stretch as Scotland's Grant Forrest claimed his third DP World Tour victory with a birdie at the last.
Forrest's victory also secured him invites to the 2027 Masters and Open at St Andrews.
Dean was rightly upset with the result but his solo fourth finish ensured that he leapfrogged Matt Fitzpatrick at the top of the European Ryder Cup standings.
Only the top six players will qualify for Luke Donald's team that will head to Adare Manor next September, with the rest of the team filled out by six captain's picks.
Elsewhere, Adrian Meronk - who won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship two weeks ago - remains in third despite missing the cut in Spain.
Spain's Eugenio Chacarra, who narrowly missed out on winning his national open, dropped one spot to fourth.
Ireland's Shane Lowry and Denmark's Niklas Nørgaard fill out the top six.

Explained: European Ryder Cup qualification process
The 2027 European Ryder Cup qualification race is a season-long points competition, with six players earning automatic places and six more selected by captain Luke Donald.
Qualification began with the 2026 British Masters and runs until 22 August 2027.
Players earn Ryder Cup points from eligible tournaments, with the biggest events carrying the greatest rewards.
How are the points awarded?
Tournaments are divided into five bands, based on their importance:

Who qualifies?
At the end of the qualification period, the six players at the top of the Ryder Cup Points List qualify automatically.
Captain Donald then selects six more players, giving Europe a 12-man team.
That means the points race determines half of the team, while the captain's selections determine the other half.
The U.S. team, which will be captained by Jim Furyk, have not outlined their qualification process yet.
Furyk previously teased a change in how the United States will likely overhaul their qualification method.
