Rory McIlroy schedule: Find out when and where the six-time major champion is playing next.
Masters champion Rory McIlroy is set for a short break from the sport after bringing the curtain down on his PGA Tour season at the $40m Tour Championship in Atlanta.
McIlroy arrived at the PGA Tour's FedExCup playoffs four weeks ago having taken an extended break following a disappointing 40th-place finish at The Open.
The 37-year-old endured a difficult start in Memphis, finishing 66th in a field of 68 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, but bounced back the following week with a third-place finish at the BMW Championship, where Wyndham Clark once again got the better of the Northern Irishman.
Clark previously pipped McIlroy to the U.S. Open title in 2023.
McIlroy headed into the final round of the Tour Championship at East Lake five strokes off the lead after lighting up the third round with a seven-under 63, but ultimately had to settle for a share of fourth.
In the immediate aftermath, McIlroy admitted his "fuse" is shorter than it used to be and suggested he is unlikely to spend more than three weeks on the road again.
His PGA Tour campaign now complete, McIlroy will turn his attention back to Europe.
He is scheduled to make his next appearance at the Amgen Irish Open, where he will be joined by several of his Ryder Cup teammates.
The tournament will be staged at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg from September 9-13.
A week later, McIlroy will head to Surrey for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
McIlroy will then take another extended break from the sport before teeing it up at the DP World India Championship in October.
In December, McIlroy will play the Australian Open at Kingston Heath and the Cathedral Invitational.
