LIV Golf UK Live: Joaquin Niemann surges clear of chasing pack in second round at JCB

Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann fires a stunning 8-under 63 to open up a commanding six-shot lead with 18 holes to play at LIV Golf UK.

Joaquin Niemann is running away with things at LIV Golf UK as the Chilean goes in search of a record fifth win of the season.

Niemann, 26, held a share of the lead after the first round but he's now put daylight between himself and the chasing pack on day two.

The Torque GC captain fired a stunning 8-under 63 to move six shots clear of the chasing pack with 18 holes to play at JCB Golf & Country Club.

He finds himself at 14-under par.

Niemann is already a record six-time winner on LIV Golf and he looks assured of making it seven wins on Sunday.

Bubba Watson is in solo second on 8-under par, one shot ahead of Caleb Surratt, Adrian Meronk and Paul Casey.

There were no Saturday moves from the three pre-tournament favourites Bryson DeChambeau, Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm.

All three players are well off the pace.

That was after he missed his second straight cut in the majors at The Open last Sunday.
