Young -3 (2)
Young made bogey on the 1st but has got it back immediately on the 2nd.
The Players champion nearly holed out his approach shot and he tapped home to move back to level for the day and to 3-under par.
Norris -5 (12)
South Africa’s Shaun Norris, playing alongside Suber, has just made two birdies in a row to move into a share of the lead.
Norris is an impressive 4-under for his second round
Two surprise leaders at this stage, but of course an extremely long way to go.
Young -3 (2)
Young made bogey on the 1st but has got it back immediately on the 2nd.
The Players champion nearly holed out his approach shot and he tapped home to move back to level for the day and to 3-under par.
Suber -5 (11)
The rollercoaster ride continues for Suber, but he’s moving in the right direction again with back to back birdies at 10 and 11.
Suber buries a 20 footer to move back into the outright lead on 5-under par. An impressive bounce back from the Open debutant.
Herbert -4 (5)
Some start from the Australian.
He’s just tucked away a fourth birdie in five holes to race into a share of the lead.
The LIV star means business today.
Cole Par (16)
It’s been some round so far from Eric Cole.
He’s got the low round of the day in progress at 6-under and the American looks like he will be safely through to the weekend.
He opened with a 76 but has played himself right back into the tournament on day two.
Suber -4 (10)
After three bogeys in a row, Suber has made the turn with a much-needed birdie to settle things down. He’s now back into a tie for the lead.
Herbert -3 (3)
Three straight birdies out the gate for LIV’s Lucas Herbert, who moves to within one shot of the lead.
Herbert is seeking a first major title.
Reed Par (2)
Former Masters champion Patrick Reed has raced out the gates on day two with two opening birdies on 1 and 2.
A lot of course members consider Reed is a perfect fit for Royal Birkdale based on the excellence of his short game.
Suber -3 (8)
Suber is having a shocker here.
That’s three dropped shots in a row.
Back down to 3-under par.
Wallace -4 (12), Coody -4 (3)
It’s bogeys for the leaders on 12 and 3 and we’ve now a five-way tie for the lead with Suber, Im and Brown on 4-under par.
Suber -4 (7)
It’s all going badly wrong for Suber.
He’s just three whacked again from a similar range and it’s back to back bogeys for the overnight leader, who drops into a tie for third on 4-under par.
Wallace -5 (11)
This is some round from Wallace.
He’s just drained a 15 footer for birdie on the 11th to move to 4-under for his round and up into a share of the lead at 5-under par.
Suber -5 (6), Coody -5 (2)
It’s a sloppy three jab from 35 feet for Suber, who makes his first bogey of the round on the par-4 6th.
His compatriot Coody has just birdied the par-4 2nd to join him out in front on 5-under par.
Coody -4 (1)
It's a brilliant opening birdie from Coody at the par-4 1st and the American is up into a share of second on 4-under par.
Suber -6 (5)
It's a disappointing par for the leader on the short par-4 5th.
He went left of the green at the driveable hole, and he was short sighted to the pin so had to play into the heart of the green with his approach shot.
No harm done though.
It's a two-putt par and Suber remains at 6-under par and two shots clear.
Suber is not only looking to win on his Open debut, but also for the first ever time on Tour.
Wallace -4 (9)
Wallace bounces back from a bogey on 8 with a brilliant birdie from six feet at 9.
The Englishman is back up into a share of second on four-under par.
Wallace is seeking a first major title.
Conditions will likely not get any easier than they are right now for the players.
We've just taken a quick walk around the course and there is barely any wind at all.
It's also not scorching hot yet, it's just a very pleasant morning.
Tournament officials also watered the greens overnight, so those off earliest today will be able to take advantage of slightly softer greens than those who tee off later today.
The breeze is expected to pick up later on too.
C. Smith +1 (5)
LIV's Cameron Smith, who won The Open at St Andrews in 2022, got off to a tough three-over start but he's seemingly come to play on Friday.
The Australian is two-under for the first five holes and up to one-over par for the championship, which will likely be safe for the weekend as it stands.
Before the big hitters get their second round underway at The Open, why not fire up the kettle and watch our latest YouTube video presented by GolfMagic Equipment Editor Georgina Black.
Wallace -3 (8)
Matt Wallace had made the first big move of day two, but he's just dropped his first shot of the day on the 8th.
The fiery Englishman is two-under par for thru eight holes and up into a tie for fourth on three-under par.
Suber -6 (3)
It's a steady start from overnight leader Suber.
Despite some early nerves, Suber has played the first three holes in one-under courtesy of a birdie on the par-4 2nd and he's progressed to six-under par for the tournament.
He finds himself two shots clear of the chasing pack.
Suber is looking to become the 11th player to win on Open debut, and the first to do that since Collin Morikawa at Royal St George's in 2021.
Welcome to live round two updates from the 154th Open.
Here's a look at the all the R2 tee times.
