BMW Championship: Otherworldly Scottie Scheffler clinches fifth PGA Tour title of 2025

What can Scheffler manage from the rough? 

It's a conservative effort and it looks like we'll have to get the measuring tape out to decide who is away.

MacIntyre's tee shot finds the fairway bunker. He's on an upslope, and the lie is perfect. 

He opts to lay-up, though.

The World No.1 has 35 feet for birdie. It's a decent effort, but trundles past the cup by about four feet.

You would expect Scheffler to make no mistake, but he lips out for his par! 

MacIntyre makes a three, after watching his short birdie putt miss on the high side. 

The lead is two.

Ludvig Aberg is only three strokes back. Sam Burns will also believe he can rattle in a few birdies to pile the pressure on Bob and Scottie.

Right then, the leaders are at the par-3 3rd. 

Scheffler finds the heart of the green with another towering iron shot. 

Bob is closer, though, and will have about seven feet to get one back.

Scottie Scheffler rolls his lengthy birdie putt to gimme range and taps in for his four.

MacIntyre hits a nice putt, but it rolls one foot past. He tidies up for another bogey. 

What must he be thinking right now?

Robert MacIntyre's start goes from bad to worse. He finds an okay lie, but his approach flies the green and now he's short-sided. 

He hacks his third onto the green, but leaves himself 25 feet to save his par.

Scottie Scheffler is just relentless, isn't he? Another fairway found at the 2nd. 

Bob stares down his tee shot. It trundles into the rough again. 

Sloppy start. 

As we mentioned, the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings will advance to next week's Tour Championship at East Lake. 

Xander Schauffele came into the BMW Championship 43rd in the points race, but has been unable to make the move he needed. 

Schauffele has struggled to find his best form since sustaining a rib injury that saw him sit out eight weeks of the campaign earlier in the season. 

Still, at least he has secured his spot in the US Ryder Cup team.

Robert MacIntyre plays a delightful bump-and-run just off the front edge of the green. He'll have an outside chance to save his par.

Robert MacIntyre gets somewhat fortunate his golf ball isn't fully buried in the rough. He takes dead aim with a wedge, but comes up short of the green. Work to do to make par. 

How will Scheffler respond? Right at it. About five or so feet for birdie. 

Could be a two-shot swing right out of the gate..

Fleetwood's birdie attempt drifts by the left edge. He'll remain eight behind MacIntyre.

Big pull from the Scot at the 1st, who finds the thick stuff with his opening drive. 

Scheffler? An enormous drive finds the middle of the fairway...

Scheffler, as you'd expect, looks remarkably relaxed.

Tommy Fleetwood grabs a birdie at the par-4 2nd to move into a share of fourth with European Ryder Cup hopeful Harry Hall and Sam Burns. 

Fleetwood follows his birdie with a sublime tee shot at the par-3 3rd.

Scotland's Robert MacIntyre is going search of the biggest victory of his career this evening. 

The Oban man captured his maiden PGA Tour title last June at the RBC Canadian Open, sparking emotional scenes, but is yet to get over the line over some truly elite competition. 

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler will begin the final round four strokes behind the 29-year-old. 

How will MacIntyre handle the moment? Judging by his behaviour so far, he's up to the task. 

The leaders will tee off at 18.40pm BST.
