Explosive tell-all book about Rory McIlroy to be published in March 2026
Prominent golf journalist and author Alan Shipnuck has confirmed his tell-all book about Rory McIlroy is complete and will be published next March.
The author who published the explosive remarks made by Phil Mickelson that almost brought down LIV Golf before it began has confirmed his book about Masters champion Rory McIlroy is complete.
Former Sports Illustrated reporter Alan Shipnuck, who has been on the beat covering golf for more than two decades, has been penning a tell-all book about the 36-year-old Northern Irishman.
McIlroy has enjoyed the best year of his career, claiming his first green jacket after more than a decade-long wait for a major championship and playing a key role in Europe's dramatic 15-13 Ryder Cup victory in New York.
He also won The Players Championship and the Irish Open in front of his home fans.
RORY is now available to pre-order for its March 2026 release. It promises to "go deep" into McIlroy's "personal history" during a time in which the spotlight on the golfer has never been brighter.
Shipnuck says writing the book was a blast. "He's had a big life, and it's all in there," he said.
Rory book is done! Comes out in March. I had a blast typing this, which hopefully means it’s fun to read. He’s had a big life, and it’s all in here. pic.twitter.com/S7Fe9gYuhk

Who is Alan Shipnuck?
Alan Shipnuck is a journalist and author who has been covering the sport for more than two decades.
Formerly of GOLF and Sports Illustrated, he has penned multiple explosive books about the sport.
Chief of which was his biography of six-time major champion Phil Mickelson.
Phil: The Rip-Roaring (And Unauthorised) Biography of Golf's Most Colorful Superstar was published in May 2022.
It contained the explosive comments Mickelson made about LIV Golf's Saudi financiers.
Mickelson described LIV's backers as "scary motherf------" and acknowledged the Kingdom's alleged role in the murder and dismemberment of journalist Jamal Khashoggi as well as human rights abuses.
LIV officials later revealed that Lefty's comments almost brought down the PIF-backed league before it even began.
The fallout led to Mickelson taking an extending period away from the limelight and even lost him multiple sponsors.
In October 2023, Shipnuck published LIV And Let Die. It detailed the feud between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
Whether or not the McIlroy book will contain as many revelations remains to be seen.
