Kai Trump addresses Jake Weinberg dating rumours after being spotted with Miami football star

Kai Trump has been forced to address speculation about her love life after being linked to a fellow University of Miami student who is making waves in college football.

The 19-year-old, who is in her first year at the university, has attracted attention over alleged links to Hurricanes kicker Jake Weinberg. 

However, any suggestion that the pair are romantically involved has now been firmly dismissed.

A representative for Kai told TMZ that there is no relationship between the two, explaining: “Kai and Jake are just friends and they are not dating.”

Speculation began circulating online in October, with the pair reportedly spotted at the same restaurant in Palm Beach, Florida. 

Neither has publicly confirmed a romance, and they have not been photographed together.

The rumours have nevertheless gathered momentum, partly because both are now part of the same university sporting set-up.

Kai is pursuing her ambitions in golf as a member of Miami's women's team, while Weinberg has established himself as an important player for the Hurricanes football programme.

The 7-8 kicker made the switch from Florida State during the summer, arriving in Miami for his third year of eligibility. 

Originally from Boynton Beach, Florida, he has enjoyed an impressive campaign, converting seven of his eight field-goal attempts and all 43 of his extra-point kicks.

Miami had made an unbeaten 8-0 start to the season by the time the speculation emerged, putting Weinberg in the spotlight as the Hurricanes enjoyed a strong run.

For Kai, however, the attention surrounding her personal life is only one part of a busy period.

The teenager has been working towards her ambition of becoming a professional golfer, although her progress has recently been interrupted by a wrist injury. 

She revealed in October that she had undergone surgery after picking up the problem during her opening tournament of the season.

Kai admitted that an operation was not what she had wanted, but said the decision was made with her long-term future in golf in mind. 

She now faces a period of rehabilitation before she can return to competitive action.

Her family has also been in the headlines for more positive reasons. 

Kai recently shared a video with her mother, celebrating the news that Vanessa Trump had received the all-clear following her breast cancer battle.

Vanessa is also dating golf icon Tiger Woods, a relationship that has brought another high-profile golfing connection into Kai's family life.

Woods has recently been celebrating a milestone of his own, with his 17-year-old son Charlie officially signing to play college golf at Florida State University. 

Tiger and Charlie's mother, Elin Nordegren, were both present for the signing ceremony.

With Kai focused on recovering from surgery and building her own golf career, the latest dating speculation is unlikely to be her biggest priority.

For now, the message from her representative is straightforward: despite the online chatter, Kai and Weinberg are just friends.
