FedExCup Top 50 Latest Projections: Who is currently heading to the BMW Championship?

The top 50 in the FedExCup standings are fighting for their place in next week's BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in Missouri as the final round of the FedEx St Jude Championship gets underway at TPC Southwind in Memphis. 

The top 70 players in the PGA Tour's FedExCup standings qualified for this week's first Playoffs event, although that number became 69 after Daniel Berger withdrew on the eve of the tournament.

Bob MacIntyre also withdrew after a shocking 12-over 82 start on Thursday, later citing a knee injury for his WD, but the Scot is safely through to next week. 

Now, only the top 50 in the standings following Sunday's final round will advance to the BMW Championship, meaning there is plenty at stake for players battling around the all-important cut-off.

World No.1 and FedExCup leader Scottie Scheffler leads the way in Memphis, taking a two-shot advantage into the final round as he looks to claim his second victory of the season.

Sam Burns and Sungjae Im are his nearest challengers, while Tommy Fleetwood, Jake Knapp, Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Brian Harman and Alex Noren are also in contention.

While those players are chasing the trophy, however, there is another fascinating battle taking place further down the leaderboard.

The latest FedExCup projections (see below) are changing throughout the day, with every birdie and bogey potentially having an impact on who makes it through to Bellerive Country Club from 20-23 August. 

For Im, the South Korean is playing for both the FedEx St Jude trophy and a place in the top 50, having started this week at 53rd in the race.

Multiple players around the top-50 bubble entered the week knowing they had little room for error. 

The likes of Im, Harman, Matt McCarty, Maverick McNealy, Keith Mitchell, Eric Cole, Michael Brennan, Harris English and Max Homa are among the PGA Tour players with plenty at stake in Sunday's final round.

After next week's 50-man BMW Championship, the top 30 on the FedEx Cup standings will then advance to the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake in Georgia where the winner will lift the FedEx Cup. 

Rory McIlroy is a record three-time winner of the FedEx Cup, while Scheffler has won it once before in 2024.
