Paige Spiranac has hit out at PGA Tour Champions pro Chris DiMarco following his controversial LIV Golf comments.

Spiranac, who has 4m Instagram followers, made her feelings be known about DiMarco just a day after celebrating her 31st birthday as she sported a new look.

Speaking to the Golf's Subpar podcast, DiMarco, 55, urged LIV Golf to come and buy the over 50s PGA Tour Champions circuit so he could play for some "real money".

DiMarco is fed up of prize purses falling around the $2m mark on the senior tour.

LIV Golf events play for 10 times as much.

You can watch DiMarco's interview below. Scroll to 12 minutes in the video for his comments about LIV Golf.

DiMarco was once ranked sixth in the Official World Golf Rankings and he finished second to Tiger Woods at the 2005 Masters and 2006 US Open.

The three-time PGA Tour winner admitted if LIV Golf had existed when he was at the peak of his powers then he would not have hesitated to ditch the PGA Tour.

That does not sit well with Spiranac, who tweeted disapproval at DiMarco's comments:

Spiranac tweeted

"Chris DiMarco has made over 22 million dollars over his career on the course. That number is not counting sponsorship money. Hand up if you’re tired of pro golfers complaining about money."

Although PIF bankrolls the LIV Golf League, its governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan met with PGA Tour officials and player directors including Woods last week as talks continue over a potential shock merger between PIF and the PGA Tour.

Under the terms of the PGA Tour and PIF's ongoing framework agreement, the PIF could still become a minority invester in PGA Tour Enterprises.

Paige told her fans she is opting for a more "natural look" in 2024.
