PGA Tour 2027 schedule confirmed as Tour prepares for major 2028 changes
The 2027 PGA Tour schedule is taking shape, with a new event, major changes and one date still to be confirmed.
The PGA Tour has unveiled its 2027 schedule, with the calendar largely taking shape ahead of this week’s Tour Championship at East Lake and the conclusion of the FedEx Cup season.
There are still a handful of details to be finalised, including one tournament date opposite the Genesis Invitational, but the majority of next year’s schedule is now confirmed.
The 2027 campaign gets underway with The American Express in Palm Springs from January 21-24, before the PGA Tour heads to Torrey Pines for The Sentry.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am then moves to the week before the WM Phoenix Open, with the latter retaining its traditional Super Bowl Sunday finish.
The schedule will feature 36 tournaments, including the four majors, although several familiar events have disappeared.
The Sony Open, Puerto Rico Open and Rocket Classic are all absent, while the former Kapalua event has been replaced by The Sentry at Torrey Pines.
One of the biggest additions is the Sompo Napa Championship, which will be played immediately before the regular-season finale in Greensboro. That event will now be known as the GO by Raymond James.
The Tour has also created more breathing room around its eight signature events.
Unlike this season, there will be no back-to-back signature tournaments, although the Cadillac Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational will sit on either side of The Players Championship in March.
The Valspar Championship has also undergone a significant calendar shift, moving from its usual position into early May ahead of the Truist Championship.
The 2027 season is particularly significant because it is expected to be the final PGA Tour schedule in its current format.
Whether Jon Rahm plays any part on the PGA Tour next year remains to be seen amid speculation the Spaniard is about to leave LIV Golf.
From 2028, the Tour plans to introduce its Championship and Challenger series as part of a new two-tier structure.
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp confirmed the Tour Championship will be a two-week matchplay contest from 2028.
