Report: Tiger Woods "really considered" appearing in Happy Gilmore 2 film
Tiger Woods was the glaring absentee of all the PGA Tour superstars in Happy Gilmore 2, but he definitely gave it some thought...

When Happy Gilmore 2 was announced last season, the golf world braced itself for a wild mix of slapstick comedy and superstar cameos. And it delivered — big time.
The likes of PGA Tour and LIV Golf superstars Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele all featured alongside golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Sir Nick Faldo, John Daly and Lee Trevino.
Scheffler was rightly praised for his brilliant cameo in the film, especially when he mocked himself for going to prison again.
LPGA star Charley Hull and social media sensation Paige Spiranac also played roles.
But amid all the familiar faces, two glaring absences had fans scratching their heads: Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
Phil's no-show? Lefty was allegedly asked, but he never really engaged with the project.
Tiger’s? Well that's where things get rather interesting.

At 49 years old, Woods remains one of sport’s most guarded and intriguing figures.
The 15-time major champion rarely posts much on social media, shuns unnecessary interviews, and when he does speak, the golf world listens.
That’s why it raised eyebrows when the film’s co-producer, Chad Mumm, revealed just how close Woods came to stepping in front of the camera.
“There were like 29 people on the list. I got all of them except for Tiger and Phil,” Mumm told Skratch.
“Phil, we asked and they didn’t really ever engage.
"And Tiger, I kind of heard afterwards that he really considered it.
"It just kind of didn’t work from a scheduling perspective.”
So yes, Woods did think about it.
But with his diary jammed with ongoing rehab work, business commitments and precious family time including watching his son Charlie Woods continue to impress on the junior amateur stage, the shoot just couldn’t be squeezed in.
Even Nicklaus — whose surprise cameo had fans grinning — was only available thanks to a perfect scheduling fluke.
If filming had landed in a different season, he might have missed out too.
So Woods’ absence wasn’t down to reluctance — it was purely timing. Which somehow makes it even more tantalising.
Picture it: Tiger strolling into frame, trading barbs with Adam Sandler, maybe rolling in a monster putt with that wry, knowing smile.
Instead, we’re left with a cameo that almost happened.
