South Africa's Aldrich Potgieter will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Rocket Classic.
The 20-year-old, who leads the PGA Tour in driving distance this season, went round Detroit Golf Club in seven-under 65 on Saturday to reach 19-under.
He leads by two strokes over a group of five players that includes Max Greyserman, Jake Knapp, Mark Hubbard, Andrew Putnam and Chris Kirk.
Two-time major champion Collin Morikawa broke into the top 10 with a 68.
Potgieter is searching for his first title on the PGA Tour.
He had a golden opportunity to breakthrough in February at the Mexico Open but was beaten by Brian Campbell in a playoff that included the latter receiving one of the luckiest breaks in recent memory.
Campbell's tee shot in a sudden death playoff seemed destined for out of bounds but hit a tree and ended up in the middle of the fairway.
Potgieter leads the PGA Tour in driving distance this season, averaging six yards more than Masters champion Rory McIlroy.
His round on Saturday included five consecutive birdies from the fourth. He added another circle to his scorecard at the 13th and kept a clean card overall.
Potgieter earned his PGA Tour card last year via the Korn Ferry Tour. He is currently ranked 73rd in the FedEx Cup.
