A cameraman took a tumble in front of Rory McIlroy as he followed the World No.2 into the third round of the Tour Championship.

McIlroy got out of his car in the pouring rain and headed into East Lake where he was followed by a security guard and a cameraman.

As the cameraman walked backwards to follow McIlroy he unfortunately tumbled to the ground.

"Ohhhhh," reacted McIlroy, as the cameraman was helped by other bystanders back up on his feet.

Sky Sports Golf's Nick Dougherty said: "Oh boy, well, as long as it's not Rory that stumbles I suppose today that's the plan anyway... back on his feet and off he goes."

When the replay was showed on Sky Sports, Dougherty added: "Oh here we go, ah that's a bit cruel isn't it, there's always someone there to capture the moment, the world we live in..."

Watch what happened here:

McIlroy starts the third round of the FedEx Cup finale at 7-under par and six shots behind the leaders.

He tees off alongside Sam Burns at 2.16pm local time.

Russell Henley and Tommy Fleetwood lead the Tour Championship heading into the weekend at 13-under par.

Cameron Young is two shots adrift on 11-under par in solo third.

Robert MacIntyre and Patrick Cantlay round out the top five on 10-under par.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler looks on in solo sixth at 8-under par.

Scheffler has led the FedEx Cup just about all season after having won five times including two major titles.

But with all the points being reset this week, it means whoever wins the Tour Championship wins the FedEx Cup.

After this week's Tour Championship, McIlroy will turn his attention to the BMW PGA at his new home of Wentworth in three weeks' time.

He will then tee it up in the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage in New York from 26-28 September.
