South Korean golfer Si Woo Kim is enjoying a dream week at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson — and he has wife Ji Hyun Oh by his side every step of the way.

Kim, 30, surged into a commanding five-shot lead heading into the weekend at TPC Craig Ranch after carding a sensational second-round 60 on Friday, narrowly missing out on a historic sub-60 round after a bogey at the final hole.

The Dallas-based PGA Tour star is chasing the fifth title of his career at what is effectively a home event in Texas, but away from golf much of the attention has turned towards his relationship with fellow professional golfer Oh.

The couple married in 2022 after first going public with their relationship the previous year.

Posting photos from their wedding day, Kim wrote: “I will live happily ever after.”

Oh is a highly accomplished golfer in her own right.

Before stepping away from the game, she established herself as one of the leading players on the KLPGA Tour, winning seven professional titles during an impressive career in South Korea.

After turning professional in 2013, Oh enjoyed a breakthrough victory in 2015 before adding major titles including the Hanwha Classic and Korea Women’s Open during her standout seasons in 2017 and 2018.

Injuries later interrupted her momentum, although she returned to claim one final victory in 2021.

Since marrying Kim, however, Oh has focused on supporting her husband full-time on the PGA Tour.

“I plan on going to every tournament he plays,” Oh previously told the PGA Tour. “I will now be Kim’s wife, rather than a professional golfer.”

Kim, currently ranked 24th in the world, has often credited his wife's presence for helping him stay relaxed during tournaments.

Following his Sony Open victory in 2023, Kim revealed how much her support meant to him.

“She walked with me the whole time, and she gave me so much strength,” Kim said.

“I was able to smile and relax whenever I saw her along the ropes.”

The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Theo, in 2024 and now live together in Dallas, Texas, close to this week’s tournament venue in McKinney.

Kim’s superb form at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson has put him firmly in control heading into the final two rounds, although world number one Scottie Scheffler — one of Kim’s close friends — remains his nearest challenger.

Having already enjoyed success both on and off the course, Kim will now hope a fifth PGA Tour title is just two rounds away.
