Bryson DeChambeau teases golf fans by saying he might do a Happy Gilmore swing at Ryder Cup
Bryson DeChambeau takes to Instagram to tease golf fans that he might whip out a Happy Gilmore swing on the 1st tee at the 2025 Ryder Cup.
Bryson DeChambeau has teased golf fans by claiming there's a possibility he could whip out a famous Happy Gilmore swing on the 1st tee at the Ryder Cup next month.
DeChambeau, 31, was one of a number of Tour superstars to feature in the filming of Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix, which was the sequel to the original film of 1996.
Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler were also notable others to play roles in the movie, along with golf legends Sir Nick Faldo, Jack Nicklaus, John Daly and Lee Trevino.
LPGA pro Charley Hull and social media sensation Paige Spiranac also had cameo roles.
DeChambeau not only got to play a lead role in Happy Gilmore 2 but he also filmed a Break 50 on his YouTube channel with Happy himself, Adam Sandler, to coincide with the launch of the movie.
During his Break 50 video, he got Sandler to teach him how to hit the famous run-up Happy Gilmore golf swing.
Sandler and DeChambeau both hit rockets during filming, and it would seem the LIV Golf superstar has still got the bug with less than two months to go until the 2025 Ryder Cup.
DeChambeau took to his Instagram Story today to pose the question: "What are the odds I do this on the 1st tee at the Ryder Cup?!"
Scroll down to watch.
After saying it with a wry smile and eating a protein bar, DeChambeau unleashed a Happy drive into his practice net to the cries of 'wooooo'.
The person taking the video for DeChambeau said: "Not sure about the scream..."
DeChambeau also stuck up a poll vote on his Instagram Story post.
At the time of publication, 94% have so far voted in favour of DeChambeau hitting a Happy drive down the par-4 1st at Bethpage Black.
Reckon DeChambeau will actually do it on the 1st tee on Friday 26 September?!
We wouldn't put anything past Bryson, but if he does then he will likely want to run it first past captain Bradley...

DeChambeau is already assured of his place in the US Ryder Cup team, as confirmed by captain Bradley last month.
The big-hitting American is back in action at this week's LIV Golf Chicago, the penultimate event of the league's regular season.
He lies third in the season-long LIV Golf standings.
DeChambeau is now not just one of the best golfers in the world, but he's also one of the biggest influencers in the sport as a content creator on YouTube and social media.
He has amassed more than 3m followers on his Instagram, along with more than 2m on his YouTube channel, which is one of the fastest growing in the world.
