And what a round it has been for the reigning champ. 

He find the fairway bunker with his tee shot but a sublime second will see him have a great birdie chance to put another circle on his scorecard.

Could Justin Rose be leading the 2025 Masters by TWO shortly?

The steely veteran has just stuffed one from 185 yards at the 11th very, very close. 

Ladies and gents, please spare a thought for America's Nick Dunlap. 

He's making his second Masters start and has just carded a 90. That's 18-over par.

Scottie Scheffler has birdied the par-3 16th to join Corey Conners and Tyrrell Hatton in a tie for second.

The reigning Masters champion has played faultless golf so far this first round, yet to card a bogey.

A birdie on the par-4 9th for Justin Rose sees him take the outright lead over fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton and Canadian Corey Conners.

After carding 31 on the front nine, Rose has moved into the lead at 5-under par.

Collin Morikawa, who at one point was tied for the lead, has scored back-to-back bogeys to sit at 1-under par.

A bogey on the par-5 15th and par-3 16th sees him slip to T10.

The par-5 15th is historically one of the easiest holes at Augusta National, with an average score of 4.77. 

Justin Rose birdied the par-5 8th to move to 4-under par and join fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton at the top of the leaderboard.

The 2013 U.S. Open champion has yet to win the green jacket, despite two runner-up finishes in 2015 and 2017.

Corey Conners has joined Scottie Scheffler, Justin Rose, and Collin Morikawa in T2 on 3-under par.

The Canadian birdied the par-5 15th and par-4 17th to finish strong and join some huge names close to the top of the leaderboard.

The 21-year-old has had a horror round, failing to make a single birdie through 14 holes.

Dunlap has carded six bogeys and three double-bogeys on his way to 13-over par through 14.

He currently sits at rock bottom of the leaderboard, with amateur Noah Kent and Patton Kizzire closest at 7-over.

Last year, Dunlap became the first player in PGA Tour history to win as both an amateur and a professional in the same year.

He was also named the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

Fred Couples, 65, continues to show everyone that he’s still got it by eagling the par-4 14th.

Bouncing straight back after he bogeyed 13th, Couples is now 1-under par through 14.

With 191 yards to the pin, Couples certainly hit the shot of the day so far.

The 1992 Masters champion is on a mission to break his own record of the oldest player to make the cut at the Masters.

Justin Rose has scored three birdies through the first three holes.

A runner-up in the 2015 and 2017 Masters, Rose has made light work of the first three holes and joins tied for second place.

He is the first player at this year's Masters to be 3 under through three holes.

Rose joins Scottie Scheffler and Tyrrell Hatton in second place.
