The 2026 Masters will continue this weekend without some big names.

After 36 holes, defending champion Rory McIlroy has full taken control and will take a six-shot into moving day at Augusta National.

McIlroy mixed nine birdies and two bogeys in a scintillating second-round 65 on Friday.

His former rival and fellow green jacket winner, Patrick Reed, is nicely positioned alongside his compatriot Sam Burns on six-under.

English duo Tommy Fleetwood and last year's runner-up, Justin Rose, are also inside the top 10 their Ryder Cup teammate and former Open champion Shane Lowry.

Brooks Koepka is also playing well and is among a group of three players on three-under.

World number one and pre-tournament favourite, Scottie Scheffler, is not out of it just yet as anything can happen at Augusta.

But the 29-year-old American is on level par.

The 2023 Masters champion, Jon Rahm, endured a nightmarish start by recording his highest ever round at Augusta National.

But the Spaniard fought back to make the cut on the number.

Several others, though, will be thinking about having another crack at the whip next April.

Chief among them is LIV Golf recruit Bryson DeChambeau

Let's see who joined DeChambeau in missing the 2026 Masters cut.

Bryson DeChambeau +6

The 2024 U.S. Open champion was among the pre-tournament favourites after recent performances here suggested he was getting to grips with Augusta National.

DeChambeau entered the 36th hole needing a bogey at worst to make the weekend but unravelled in dramatic fashion.

After missing his tee shot in the right trees, DeChambeau advanced his third to the greenside sand trap.

From there, DeChambeau took two strokes to get out and when he did, watched his golf ball trickle off the front edge.

He needed to chip in to make the cut.

DeChambeau missed.

Cameron Smith +7

The 2022 Open winner missed has now missed six major championship cuts in a row.

Will the Australian find some form soon in one of golf's big four?

Robert MacIntyre +7

The Scot arrived at Augusta National full of confidence but endured a tough couple of days.

The Oban man, who got himself in trouble with the green jackets for directing a middle finger towards the 15th green after making a rare quadruple-bogey nine, could not recover from an opening eight-over 80.

Better luck next time, Bob.

Danny Willett +5

An early exit for the Englishman, who was celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his surprise Masters win after Jordan Spieth's memorable implosion.

Akshay Bhatia +6

The young lefty earned the biggest victory of his career last month at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and was considered as an outsider her to contend.

Bhatia holed out for birdie on 17th on Friday to give himself a sniff of making the cut.

Needing a birdie at the last, Bhatia stumbled with a double-bogey to miss the cut by two.

Tom McKibbin +7

The LIV Golf recruit was making made his maiden Masters start this week.

He earned his spot into the 91-man field courtesy of his victory at the Honk Kong Open last year.

McKibbin, who is inside the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking, would've backed himself to perform better.

Daniel Berger +8

Back injuries have hindered the American in recent years but he appears to be over them now.

A runner-up finish to Akshay Bhatia at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March would've given Berger, who previously represented the United States in the Ryder Cup, a great deal of confidence.

But he departs after carding rounds of 74-76.

Min Woo Lee +11

The Australian might have expected to contend this week.

But he only registered two birdies across 36 holes.

Fred Couples +9

The 1992 Masters champion was hoping to break his own record, set in 2023, of becoming the oldest player to make the cut.

And he made a dream start by playing his first two holes in two under.

On Thursday, Couples was level par as he hit his tee shot down the 15th fairway.

But he trudged off the green with a quadruple-bogey nine and dropped three more shots over the final two holes.

Couples went round Augusta in a respectable 75 on Friday, but will miss out.

Aldrich Potgieter +15

The longest hitter on the PGA Tour had a complete nightmare.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out his thinned chip on his very first hole.

It didn't get much better for the youngster.

Nicolai Hojgaard +6

The Danish pro, who represented Europe in their 2023 Ryder Cup victory in Italy, made his third Masters start.

But he couldn't get anything going.

His twin brother Rasmus went two shots better and advanced to the weekend.

Bubba Watson +5

The two-time Masters champion claimed on the eve of the tournament he still had what it takes to become the oldest winner of the green jacket.

Agonisingly for Watson, a birdie putt on the 18th just slipped by and he missed out by one stroke.

J.J. Spaun +5

The 2025 U.S. Open champion has struggled somewhat since winning his first major title.

He admitted his approach to golf changed and he put too much pressure on himself to perform.

Spaun got back to winning ways last week in Texas with a one-shot victory over the aforementioned MacIntyre.

But he misses out by one.

Angel Cabrera +16

The disgraced former champion, who made a controversial return to Augusta National 12 months ago after serving a two-year prison sentence for domestic violence offences, could not recover from an opening 84.

The following players missed the cut at the 2026 Masters.
