Min Woo Lee goes 66-67 to share Andalucía Masters lead on DP World Tour

Min Woo Lee shares a three-way tie for the lead after the second round of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters on the DP World Tour.

The Australian, 24, carded a second round of 4-under 67 at Real Club Valderrama to add to his opening 66 in Spain to reach 9-under par through 36 holes.

Adrian Otaegui, who played in the curtain-raising LIV event at Centurion Club in June, sits on the same score with fellow Spaniard Angel Hidalgo.

Hidalgo equalled the tournament record of 8-under 63 on Friday. It is a feat that should not go without praise considering the difficulty of the course.

He raced out of the blocks with four consecutive birdies from No. 2, picked up another birdie at 11 and made three more at 16, 17 and 18 for a bogey-free round.

Just this week Scotland's Bob MacIntyre said this destination reminded him of a famous major venue.

"This is the closest thing that we'll get to Augusta," he said. "I love both courses, I love having to hit shots.

"You're not swinging a golf swing, sometimes you're in the fairway and you've got a tree in the way and you're like 'right.'"

Woo Lee is looking for his third win on the DP World Tour. His last victory on the European circuit came in 2021 at the Genesis Scottish Open.

He is in good form at the moment and finished third last week at the Spanish Open. That was won by an emotional Jon Rahm as he matched a record set by Seve Ballesteros.

The highlight of Woo Lee's round came with a glorious eagle at No. 4. His accuracy also cost him at the 16th hole. He settled for a par.
