DP World Tour pro Nicolai Hojgaard hit a wild shot during the second round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

It was so wild that it landed in the hospitality area that surrounds the 18th green at Emirates Golf Club.

If you haven't heard of him, Hojgaard has already developed a reputation as one of the brightest young talents in the game.

Both he and his twin brother Rasmus are touted as future Ryder Cup stars. They've just joined the tour staff at Callaway.

But this was a bit of a loose swing from Nicolai, to say the least. He knew it was left as soon as he made contact.

Still, it was pretty cool see the young Dane offer a "healthy" shout of fore.

It's always frustrating seeing players not give spectators a fair warning, so credit to Nicolai for that.

There is one thing that has baffled us over here at GolfMagic

It'll likely baffle you as well. We need to talk about why some fans decide to pick up golf balls?! Inexplicable.

We saw this last year with this spectator picking up one of Nelly Korda's drives. There are countless others to mention.

It even confused the Sky Sports commentary team. "That's in the bucks fizz," Andrew Coltart said in the booth, describing the shot.

Then one fan decided to pick up Nicolai's golf ball. He even celebrated with a little fist pump. Look at the smile on his face!

Watch what happened here:

Coltart asked: "Why do they always do that. Yes, I've got a ball! We're still playing sir."

After a short exchange, Nicolai managed to get his golf ball back.

He was given a free drop but in the end he had to settle for a par on the hole.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Rory McIlroy avoided a round three pairing with his rival Patrick Reed

But Henrik Stenson was grouped with his Ryder Cup successor Luke Donald
