Appearance: Lovely low-profile clubhead, which appears to be the norm these days. It’s compact, sleek and we love how you can see the entire face at address. Relatively small clubhead, so may not appeal to the mid-capper but everything just sets up for take-off. The alignment is simple, with a nice circular reference point to place clubhead behind ball. 5

Feel: Well-balanced hybrid throughout and lively pop sound at impact for desired feedback. Weight has been saved in the head and consequently Cobra has distributed it into areas that improve ball flight and forgiveness. Easy to track the head during the swing and steady through the ball. 9.5

Performance: Straight, long and high launch. This was by far the easiest launching hybrid in the test, but that did not detract it in the distance stakes. It was also the most accurate of the hybrids in this test. Innovative SmartPad reduces the amount of sole that’s in contact with the turf at address and neutralises the way the club sits so you don’t need to worry about that when sampling the different loft options. 9.5

Verdict: Straight, long, high and looks the part. This just feels so much easier than hitting a 3-iron. What more could you ask for in a hybrid? And there is plenty of versatility on offer with all the available loft adjustments. 24

Pro Verdict: I really like this. Pops off the face nicely, carries well and on the whole, very straight. One shot ballooned a little but that was just a poor swing. A very impressive hybrid from Cobra.
