Review: Yes! Callie 12 putter

Were we shouting Yes! or Oh no! to the new white Callie blade?

Review: Yes! Callie 12 putter

The Callie is a moderate toe-down, traditional blade style putter made of 304 stainless steel. It offers a single sightline in the back cavity for alignment. Callie has been one of the most popular Yes! models for years. We tested out the new white version.

Callie 12 is a classic blade though not a classic colour - but the white finish works fantastically well for me. Yes! C-Groove technology provides the golfer with a unique look to the putter face and the contrast of the white finish and black grooves looks superb to my eye.

The loud zebra grip and head cover also allows the putter to stand out from the crowd… and in a good way. It also co-ordinates perfectly with my new Royal & Awesome Zebra trousers.

The Callie has quite a soft feel off the face for a blade and the response is fantastic. I find it extremely easy to line up with the perpendicular lines and it fills me with confidence when close to the hole. Extremely comfortable in my fingers - it's one of the best feeling putters I've tested for some time.

So much so, it's already found a place in my bag.

C-Groove technology had the ball rolling straight off the face towards the hole. This is just such a smooth rolling putter, even with strokes hit slightly off-centre. C-Groove technology helps roll the ball more consistently than some of the others I've tested in recent months. It is also beautifully balanced and I felt in complete control of the head.

Verdict

Now from the Adams stable of rquipment, it’s easy to see why Yes! Golf is one of the burgeoning  brands on the European scene. And this Callie model delivers just what you want in a classic blade – consistent, responsive and  looking great. Tremendous value for money. The zebra-style headcover and grip merely adds to its overall appeal.
