Best Golf Shirts 2026

Ever since the game moved on from shirts and ties, the golf polo has been the essential, defining garment in golf. And while on-course dress codes are getting more and more lax these days, a good polo shirt still forms the bedrock of any timelessly stylish golf get-up.

There are, of course, thousands of the things to sift through to find the perfect one. It also goes without saying that not all of them are particularly nice, with most golf apparel makers still going way too hard on the jazzy prints and loud colours.

As such, we've done the hard yards for you, selecting a hand-picked curation of timelessly stylish golf polos for the 2026 season, breaking down how they fit, what they're made from, and how much they'll set you back. Whether or not you think they look good? Well, that's down to personal taste.

We'll also be steering away from limited edition polo shirts and collabs in this one, sticking to the core models from each major brand to bring you a reliable guide to the best polo shirts you can shop time and time again.

Manors Course Polo

RRP: £65

Material: Seawool polyester (100% Recycled)

Fit: Loose

British brand Manors is making some of our favourite golf wear around right now, and their staple course Polo, now in its second iteration, is a true testament to the brand's commitment to both style and sustainability.

One of the most unique polos on this list, it's made from what's known as Seawool: a soft, breathable and 100% recycled polyester made from reclaimed plastic bottles and, believe it or not, oyster shells. The fit on the Course polo is slightly looser to pair better with the fuller silhouette that's growing in popularity among younger golfers, and it pairs beautifully with wider cut trousers and some sneakers.

How does the fit of a golf shirt affect my performance on the course?

Golfers are all different shapes and sizes. Thankfully, golf shirts are too. Finding a shirt to suit your body shape can be the difference between feeling great on the course or feeling like an overpacked sausage. The majority of brands offer a selection of sizes and cuts to suit all different builds, so making sure you find the right one for you is key.

Golf polo shirts are generally made with either a slim or tailored fit to cut the most flattering figure for a wide range of golfers, and some have added features that allow them to be worn easier on the course, the most common being lengthened hems to help with tucking in and to stop them riding up when bent over the golf ball at address.

How do different materials impact the comfort and performance of golf polos?

While cotton golf shirts are still popular around the world, we would highly recommend buying a shirt that is made from synthetic material like polyester, nylon or a spandex blend. While offering good breathability, cotton soaks up sweat like a sponge, and due to its lack of moisture-wicking properties, it will hold sweat on the inside of the shirt, which will lead to discomfort and odour.

Polyester and nylon, on the other hand, not only wick sweat away with ease but also offer a greater degree of stretch and durability. The synthetic fabrics also retain colour far better than cotton, and due to the crease-resistant properties of the fabrics, you don't have to worry about ironing them either.

Finding a shirt that is highly breathable can completely alter the enjoyment of your round. There's nothing worse than sweat dripping down the inside of your shirt, making you wet and uncomfortable, and there's no need for it either. With a wide range of highly breathable, moisture-wicking shirts listed above, it's time you condemned those sweat-drenched rounds of golf to the history books.

Are there sustainable options for golf polos, and how do they compare in quality?

Golf apparel manufacturers are constantly innovating new ways to make more affordable golf attire, making use of recycled, repurposed and more eco-friendly materials to do so.

Most of the biggest sportswear manufacturers, like Nike and Adidas, now use a significant portion of recycled materials like polyester and nylon in their shirts, while others repurpose natural materials to create innovative new fabrics that are comfortable and breathable. British brand Manors, for example, makes its shirts from Seawoo, which is made from recycled oyster shells.
