The small but 'crazy' equipment tweak Collin Morikawa has just put into play
The US Ryder Cup star has spoken about making a small change to his set-up that could pay big dividends.

In recent years, the prevailing trend in iron manufacturing has been making irons of stronger and stronger lofts.
This isn't a change aimed at better players, rather a move designed to help mid and high-handicap amateurs achieve more distance with less effort.
But even though players' irons tend to be the weakest lofted of all, it's rare that you hear about tour players going the extra step and adding additional height to their game. Most players, however, are not Collin Morikawa.
Speaking on a new video with the Fore Play podcast, Morikawa revealed that he has actually gone a step further, adding two degrees of loft to every iron in his bag in order to improve spin, control and consistency with his irons.
“Crazy enough, I just added two degrees to every iron as of yesterday. Two degrees of loft.
Morikawa currently plays a combination of TaylorMade's P7CB and P730 irons, already two of the manufacturer's weakest-lofted iron sets. However he went on to explain that the change was made in an effort to bring his game into line with the world's best iron players.
"I’ve been under-spinning everything. Spin is the most important thing to control. The best players, whenever I’ve talked to a guy like Scottie, or Rahm was really good at it, spin, if you know how you’re spinning it, you know how far the ball’s going to go. Off-season, I was screwing around so I just bent all my clubs yesterday.”
While he hasn't had a terrible year by any stretch, performing decently at the Ryder Cup and making the cut in three of four majors, the American has made a number of equipment tweaks recently in a quest to regain the white-hot form he boasted in his first couple of years as a professional.
In addition to tweaking his irons, a couple of months ago he switched out his TaylorMade TP Soto putter for a lower-torque option, changing into a centre-shafted Tour Spider V after a pronounced downturn in his form with the flat stick.
