NEW: Golf Drivers Test 2015

In our next club test for 2014, we review ten premium golf drivers on the market this season.

To keep the test fair, Golfmagic assistant editor Andy Roberts, off 8, and Golfmagic staff writer Charlie Lemay, off 14, were joined by Jamega Tour professional Tom Hayward and 21-handicapper Kelvin Sumner to ensure a fair test.

Over the course of the day, all four testers trialled ten different branded drivers in standard settings of 10.5-degree, neutral face and stiff shaft.

Each driver was marked each out of five for appearance, 10 for feel and 10 for performance, with additional shot data supplied using Flightscope technology. Each golfer was given balls to warm up with prior to the test starting. Once ready, each tester hit five 'proper' drives with each driver. Titleist golf balls were used throughout the test.

The test, carried out at Frilford Heath Golf Club in Oxford, saw Andy, Charlie, Tom and Kelvin score separately without consultation and the score presented for each driver is an average of four. This generated an overall score out of 25, with an overall table and conclusion on the final page of the feature.

With each driver, we have also provided details of price, lie angle (angle between centre line of hosel and ground line when the ground line is in contact with the centre of the sole from heel to toe), length, swing weight (measure of how the weight of the club feels when you swing it), shaft and grip.

The test is listed in alphabetical order.
