There was not much Tony Finau could really do as he saw Webb Simpson steal the Phoenix Open out of his hands on the closing holes at TPC Scottsdale two weeks ago, but it marked yet another failed attempt to close out a tournament for the big-hitting American.

It's hard to fathom how Finau, who has ranked inside the world's top 20 for the best part of two years with five top-10s in his last eight majors, has failed to win a tournament on the PGA Tour since the 2016 Puerto Rico Open.

A look at his final-round scoring average would indicate an inability to seal the deal. Last year Finau ranked 102nd in Round 4 scoring average (70.53), and this year the scenario is so far no better lying at 170th (71).

One golf fan by the name of Sam Harrop has gone to extreme lengths to reveal his frustration at Finau's lack of tournament wins by writing a song set to REO Speedwagon's 'Can't Fight This Feeling'.

Quite possibly the finest lyric in the song is "When was Puerto Rico? Feels like 2010. No offence, even Charles Howell has won since then."

Finau saw the funny side of it when posting on social media: "[crying laughter face, fire emoji] Loads of funny lines. I dig it bro @sam_golf after the next win I'll be looking for the remix!"
