There is no doubt about it, golf is an expensive game and in these times prices sting a bit more given the cost of living crisis.

So it's extremely important to make sure your equipment lasts longer. This is where golfclubs4cash comes into the picture.

If you didn't know, golfclubs4cash is Europe's biggest supplier of second hand golf equipment.

They are launching its golf maintenance month to reduce the number of items you need to purchase ahead of the 2023 golf season.

It will run throughout April and is completely free.

Essentially, their advice will ensure that you will be getting the most out of your equipment rather than forking out unnecessarily.

Did you know that there are approximately 14.3m clubs made each year? How many of these end up in landfill?

Do you even know how to clean, store and maintain your golf clubs properly? A simple MOT with golfclubs4cash helps immeasurably.

As we've previously mentioned, this MOT is FREE!

GolfClubs4Cash has two stores which you can visit. They are based in Edinburgh and Warrington

The free MOT will offer advice on:

  • Regripping
  • Shortening and extending of shafts
  • Loft and lie adjustments
  • Shaft adaptor changes

If you cannot make it to either store, you can still get their free advice on social media.

The retailer will also be sharing their best advice throughout the month on how to manage your equipment.

Dean Cracknell, head of marketing at golfclubs4cash, said:

"General wear and tear can really affect the performance of a golf club.
"So many elements could be affecting your game from the and loft through to the cleanliness of your clubs themselves.
"We are going to share some simple fixes to the most common issues we see in our workshops, as well as offering some basic tips on how to maintain your clubs to avoid costly purchases and sending more clubs to landfill."

He added:

"We realised that since the pandemic there has been little opportunity for golfers to learn basic club maintenance.
"Most of the newcomers will be playing inherited golf clubs, and even the returners are using old golf clubs which need a little TLC to get them match fit.
"We don't want these golfers to think that they need to buy new golf clubs to improve, so we're encouraging everyone to come in store for an MOT before making any big decisions about their game.
"With a few small adjustments, we may be able to fix that slice, hook or short drive."

golfclubs4cash are also offering a 14-day grip deal starting from £79.

Key tips from golfclubs4cash:

If your game is suffering:

  • Clean your clubs! Make sure you use hot, soapy water and always dry them after you play. Bring them indoors. Grips can crack!
  • Get your loft and lies checked. These may need to be adjusted because of your height
  • The same applies for your shafts. Are they the correct length?
  • Regripping your golf clubs should be done - on average - every 50 rounds.
  • If you decide you need to replace a club, you don't need to buy brand new!
