Golf legend Greg Norman has revealed how the windscreen 'shattered' on his private jet during a recent flight originally intended to go from California to Florida this week.

Norman, 70, took to his Instagram account with four photos and an explanation about what happened.

The former LIV Golf CEO and two-time Open champion revealed how he heard a loud pop sound before the windscreen shattered while his plane was in-flight.

It was only the second time in 40 years this had happened to the Shark, he added.

Norman's photos included shots of fire trucks and emergency vehicles.

Thankfully Norman and his flight crew are ok.

"Inflight LAX – PBI loud pop = shattered windscreen," Norman posted on his Instagram.

"Only the second time in 40yrs of private travel. Returned to LAX to the professionals to make sure all ok. Thanks all."

Norman reportedly once considered joining the Air Force before pursuing a career as a professional golfer.

The Australian chose well in the end once turning pro in 1976.

Norman won 88 titles during his pro career, including 20 wins on the PGA Tour and 14 on the European Tour, which is now the DP World Tour

The former World No.1 was most recently working as LIV Golf CEO for three years before stepping away from the position in 2025.

Norman was replaced by Scott O'Neil in the role.
