Brooks Koepka WILL replace Justin Rose as World No.1 at the end of this week, despite neither player hitting a single golf shot.

Rose moved back to World No.1 for the second time in his career on Monday morning after successfully defending the Turkish Airlines Open, but despite moving to third in the European Tour's Race to Dubai rankings has elected not to compete at the Nedbank Challenge in South Africa this week.

Koepka is also not competing in the PGA Tour's Mayakoba Golf  Classic.

Rose is currently .05 points clear of Koepka in the Official World Golf Ranking System.

According to golf ranking specialists, three-time major winner Koepka's divisor dropped  from 45 to 44  in the two-year OWGR calendar, resulting  in his average points rising.

Rose currently has 10.29 points, with Koepka in second on 10.24. After this week, Koepka will have 10.32 points and Rose will have 10.16.

It will mark the second time that Koepka has sat in the world number one spot following his first stint there two weeks ago.

Yup, ridiculous we know.
