Rafa Nadal may have just become only the fourth tennis player in the Open Era to reach a milestone of 1,000 singles ATP Tour victories, but he is also - believe it or not - a SCRATCH golfer.

In fact, the Spaniard recently finished tied sixth at the Balearic Golf Championships, a 54-hole tournament in Mallorca, Spain.

The European Tour posted a video of Nadal's swing, and it drew plenty of attention, particularly at just how short the backswing looked.

"He must have a great short game to be playing off scratch," said one golfer.

Another tweeted: "He almost makes me look like Adam Scott."

"That does not look like the swing of a scratch golfer," said another golfer.

"I'm sorry... a "what" handicap?" questioned another golfer.

"If Rafa is scratch, then I am Tiger Woods," said another.

One golfer tweeted: "He was off 8 last week, then 5 Monday, 7 Tuesday, the WHS kicked in so now he's off 0. Sounds about correct with how it seems to work."

Then again, there are no pictures on a scorecard, admitted another golfer: "Wait.... you can’t be a good golfer and not have a pretty swing?!"

"Love when a bunch of mid/high handicappers roast an all star athlete’s golf swing and question his handicap," said another golfer.

Nadal, playing for the first time since his French Open triumph, fought back to defeat fellow countryman Lopez 4-6 6-4 6-2 in just over two-and-a-half hours on Wednesday to win the Rolex Paris Masters.

The 34-year-old becomes only the fourth player in the Open Era to reach the 1,000 win milestone - joining Jimmy Connors, Roger Federer and Ivan Lendl on the exclusive list.
