Patrick Reed's wife Justine has raised eyebrows on Twitter as to the exact reason why Jordan Spieth and Reed never played together at the Ryder Cup this week.

The referenced media source is missing and needs to be re-embedded.

Several tweets from Reed’s wife on Sunday morning ahead of the singles offered some insight as to a potential reason behind the split.

Justine told another user to “ask Jordan” about the split and also lashed out at the media, calling Golf Channel’s coverage “journalistically disqualified” after one its editors criticised Reed’s play on Saturday.

When asked to elaborate on the tweets by a reporter on Sunday afternoon - as she watched the USA lose the Ryder Cup to Europe albeit with her husband beating Tyrrell Hatton 3&2 - Justine said: "I can't really say, I don't know."

When quizzed about the split between Reed and Spieth, who had proven a successful partnership in the United States' victorious Ryder Cup performance at Hazeltine, Justine tweeted...

"Patrick never said that he didn’t want to play with Jordan. Maybe you should ask Jordan why he didn’t want to play with Patrick. You don’t have to love the people you work with – but when you have chemistry and success, you go with it for the TEAM."

She also suggested that Woods, Thomas and Rickie Fowler could have worked interchangeably as partners, maintaining the Spieth-Reed pairing in the process.
