Can you imagine the scenes if Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson actually play together at the Ryder Cup?

It probably won't happen, and we're fairly certain it won't after what US Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk said earlier this season, BUT Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were at least together in one of the practice groups at Le Golf National.

The referenced media source is missing and needs to be re-embedded.

Woods teed off in Tuesday’s practice round alongside Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed, it sparked intrigue as to this week’s potential teammates.

It is expected that Woods will play with DeChambeau as the pair have played the majority of their practice rounds together this season, and both play with Bridgestone Golf balls. However, reports are suggesting both Mickelson and Reed have also been testing Bridgestone Golf balls in recent weeks.

“They are very aware of who they will be playing with this week,” said Furyk. “They are very aware of some of the options they have, and they will work on that a lot in the team room and they will work on that a lot in the next couple days.”

Still, he suggested fans and media stay away from drawing conclusions from Tuesday’s groups.

“There may be some pairings out there and there’s some groups there isn’t,” he said. “Just want them concentrating on their own game right now.”

Earlier this summer, Furyk said putting Woods and Mickelson together was "not a good idea" given their past results playing together.

It would appear Woods and Mickelson's relationship is stronger than ever in 2018, though, especially with their $9 million match scheduled to take place on November 23.

Mickelson was joking with the press on Monday that he would be asking for "a shot a side" when he comes to play Woods, fresh off his victory at the Tour Championship.
