Vijay Singh's short-term caddie Kip Henley has declined to comment as to why he has walked away from the Fijian after less than three months working together.

Singh was in contention to become the Tour's oldest winner at the Players Championship heading into the weekend but closed with rounds of 79 and 70 to finish in tied 17th.

The result marked the 54-year-old's best finish on the PGA Tour in 11 months since finishing second at the Quicken Loans.

Caddie-player relationships end all of the time and Singh has gone through his share of loopers, but this is still a surprise given Singh was in the penultimate group heading into the tournament many consider the "unofficial fifth major."

By all accounts, it would seem Henley is the one who walked away - judging by his comments on social media.

"Life's filled with tough decisions," tweeted Henley, "I just made one an hour ago. I seeking gainful employment. Please don't ask for details."

Henley was on Brian Gay’s bag for three PGA Tour wins over 10 years. As a player, Henley competed in nine PGA Tour and 22 Web.com Tour events between 1990 and 2011.
