In 2005, John Daly attempted to become the first golfer in the world to drive a ball from Canada to the USA. The challenge was to drive the ball across Niagara Falls, roughly 342 yards, with the elements in between making it even more difficult. A crowd of over 5,000 people turned up to watch Daly in his attempt to make the Guinness World Record books, but the former big hitter couldn't get the job done.

"I hit eight of them as good as I can hit them," Daly said after taking on the challenge back in 2005. "The balls hit the mist and would just fall into the river."

Maurice Allen, 37, won the 2018 World Long Drive Championship when he hit a 393 yard drive. He has also won twice on the World Long Drive Tour, winning the 2017 Catawba Classic with a 395 yard drive and the 2017 Mile High Showdown with a monster 436 yard bomb.

The 342 yard drive across Niagara Falls certainly isn't the longest drive that Allen needed to hit to make it over, but the high winds, mist and fog made the challenge extremely difficult, but Maurice Allen stepped up to the challenge.

Conquering the Niagara Falls drive clearly meant a lot to Allen, who was full of emotion after achieving what John Daly couldn't. Allen is not only a World Long Drive Champion, but has now written his name into the Guinness Book of World Records.

These new Polara Golf balls have been designed with shallow and deep dimples to lower lift and reduce drag while enhancing weight distribution.
