Chamblee FUMING with PGA Tour LIV Golf merger: "One of saddest days in pro golf"

Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee has revealed the PGA Tour and DP World Tour's merger with LIV Golf / PIF today marks "one of the saddest days in the history of professional golf."

Chamblee, a one-time PGA Tour winner and now outspoken analyst and LIV Golf critic, gave his verdict to the shock merger with PIF just moments after five-time major champion Brooks Koepka hit out at him.

"Welfare Check on Chamblee," tweeted Koepka, who just won his third US PGA.

Chamblee in the past has called for Phil Mickelson to be removed from the Hall of Fame following his decision to join LIV, accusing those who signed with the breakaway tour as sportswashing.

Mickelson and Chamblee have since traded blows on social media in recent weeks

"When I first heard about it I was completely shocked," said Chamblee.

"I can't imagine too many people outside of the two, three, four or five people who were in the room that brought this merger to fruition would have known anything about it. After the shock sort of ebbed away, I was hugely disappointed. I think this is one of the saddest days in the history of professional golf."
