Patrick Reed is on social media and the activity from the professional golfer, who bolted from the PGA Tour to join the rival LIV Golf League, is exactly what you would expect.

A quick glance at his most recent posts shows the former Masters champion promoting EasyPost, LIV Golf's first corporate sponsor, along with some images of the 32-year-old grinning like a Cheshire cat.

This is boring, right? Absolutely not newsworthy because plenty of athletes use the power of social media for reach.

But there is one account that has been providing incredible entertainment for golf fans over the last few years.

We are talking about the infamous "useGolfFACTS" account. This story goes right back to Reed's controversial drop during the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, which Reed went on to win.

The pro-Reed account accused Rory McIlroy of taking a similar drop on No. 18.

END OF STORY, the user wrote.

Wrong.

It was just the beginning.

It's long been rumoured the account is being controlled by one of Reed's inner circle. Specifically, the keyboard warrior is said to be Reed's wife Justine.

Over the years, the account has made numerous critical and disparaging remarks about the PGA Tour and their players.

Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele and Tiger Woods have all been targets.

In October of 2021, there was even more curious activity when the account shared a theory about another one of Reed's controversial moments at the 2019 Hero World Challenge.

Bizarrely, the account replied to a post from English pro Eddie Pepperrell from January of that year.

The account had the belief footage of Reed was digitally altered in an attempt to publicly smear the golfer.

Apparently, more than 180 hours of footage was studied by a forensic videography expert.

Just crazy, crazy stuff.

Which leads us on to the present day and Reed is in Australia for LIV's debut in Adelaide

He was watching an AFL game and NLU's Tron Carter posted a photograph of Reed watching from the stands.

"Have to wonder if @useGolfFACTS didn't attend due to the quality of seats provided," wrote Carter, referencing Reed apparently not being too happy with the seats he was given at a Major League Baseball game back in 2018.

The reply from the account appears to be the closest thing to an admission yet:

Whether this is the end of our tale remains to be seen.

Reed was in the news again recently when he revealed he was considering more legal action after the golfer and his fellow LIV 'rebels' lost their battle with the DP World Tour.

A UK arbitration body determined the European-based circuit had the right to impose sanctions on the LIV players.

That news was delivered on day one of the most recent Masters. Reed claimed that news dropping was coincidental but planned
