GolfMagic Fantasy: Editor Picks for The Masters

The brand new GolfMagic Fantasy game in association with Callaway has landed ahead of the first counting event at The Masters this week, and GolfMagic Editor Andy Roberts has picked five players he thinks you need to give close consideration to at the first major of the season.

GolfMagic Fantasy, which launched on site earlier this week, is free to play and there are some huge prizes with Callaway up for grabs from now all the way through to our final event at the Tour Championship in August.

Our season-long winner will receive a full custom fit through the bag fitting with Callaway at one of their national fitting centres, while we all also have some incredible prizes for weekly winners such as a major-themed major bag and special edition Callaway Paradym Driver.

It's quick and easy to join, and you have until the first scheduled tee time at The Masters on Thursday to enter your five players, of which one of them needs to become your captain who will earn you double points!

In total, we'll have 20 events.

We've compiled a helpful guide for you on all the information you need in order to play GolfMagic Fantasy this season.

Right, let's get stuck into our GolfMagic Fantasy picks for The Masters.

For the opening week, our Editor Andy Roberts is going to play two players from Pot 1, one from Pot 2, one from Pot 3 and one from Pot 4.

Andy's GolfMagic Fantasy Picks:

Pot 1: Rory McIlroy (c), Scottie Scheffler

You just have to include these major winners, don't you?! World No.1 Scheffler won his first Green Jacket at The Masters last year and World No.2 McIlroy finished second. Both players clearly love Augusta National but what I love most is that they're both bang in form arriving here. Scheffler looks in the form of his life again, and McIlroy looks to have fallen back in love with his driver again. I also thought his short game looked vastly improved at the recent WGC Match Play. Scheffler and McIlroy are rightly the joint 7/1 tournament favourites this week, narrowly ahead of Jon Rahm, and for me they just have to go straight into your GolfMagic Fantasy teams this week. I am fully expecting both players to be in contention for the famed Green Jacket come Sunday night. McIlroy is my main pick, and for that reason he gets my Captain's armband.

Pot 2: Cameron Young

It's still quite incredible how last season's Rookie of the Year Young has yet to etch his name on silverware on the PGA Tour. But it's going to happen soon, and I think it could happen at a big tournament, too. Young has proven his class on the big stage, coming close at both the US PGA and The Open last season, and you have to feel he is a major winner in waiting. He did miss the cut here last season, which would be a little concern, but his game is on an entirely different level 12 months on. I expect him to be there or thereabouts come Sunday, and he looks a very strong Pot 2 pick here.

Pot 3: Jason Day

Day is trending nicely at the moment with a string of seven top-20 finishes in a row on the PGA Tour, including five top-10s. The former World No.1 and US PGA champion fell well outside the top 100 last season as a result of his ongoing back pain, but Day has changed his swing to go easy on his back and now looks to be on his way back to the top again. Day looks the strongest Pot 3 pick on GolfMagic Fantasy this week. He also made three top-fives in 11 appearances at The Masters, going closest in 2011 with a tie for second. I'm expecting a big week from Day.

Pot 4: Brooks Koepka

For my final pick, I'm going with LIV Golf's latest winner Brooks Koepka, who became the first man to win twice on the Saudi-backed league in Orlando on Sunday. Koepka is seemingly fit and healthy again, like Day, and as we all know by now this man just loves a major having already won four of them in his career between 2017 and 2019. Koepka is one of 18 LIV Golf players competing in The Masters this week, and I think he represents their best chance.
