LIV Golf Nation, an ardent fan of the Saudi-bankrolled circuit, has gone in hard on Golf Channel on the eve of The Masters

The popular LIV Golf fan account, which has just shy of 10k followers, believes the early stages of Golf Channel's LIVE coverage from Augusta National has been "doing the PGA Tour's dirty work."

The account thinks all Golf Channel have done so far during the practice rounds is "slander" the 18 LIV Golf players competing in golf's first major of the season.

A number of LIV Golf players have been keeping themselves together in practice rounds, in particular Dustin Johnson, Talor Gooch, Phil Mickelson and Harold Varner III.

But PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy quashed any talk of a rift with those on LIV Golf by going out for a round of 18 with LIV's Brooks Koepka, who became the first man to win twice on the LIV Golf circuit last weekend.

Augusta National yesterday revealed its Round 1 and Round 2 groupings and it's fair to say they resisted on sticking many of the biggest PGA Tour and LIV Golf names out with each other.

Sandy Lyle, who is playing in his final Masters this week, is out with two LIV Golf players for the first two rounds.

It's also come to light that none of the 18 LIV Golf players will feature in any Featured Groups coverage on Thursday.

LIV Golf Nation tweeted:

"The Golf Channel should just rename themselves the PGA Tour Channel. All they've done today is slander the LIV Golf players at The Masters. They aren't covering golf, they're doing the PGA Tour's dirty work."

The tweet has certainly divided opinion on social media the past 24 hours.

One golf fan in favour of LIV Golf said: "Man I hope one of the LIV guys when this weekend."

Another tweeted: "Exactly, that's why I turned it off."

But not everyone sees it that way.

"You’d have a point if they didn’t constantly show interviews with LIV players," tweeted one golf fan.

Another commented: "LIV should start their own channel then they can talk about LIV players and you could watch LIV channel instead of watching golf channel."

One golf fan said: "PGA Tour Radio on Sirius/XM was surprisingly fair toward LIV golfers at the random times I have been listening yesterday and today."

"They’re covering professional golf, not exhibition golf," tweeted another fan.

Another fan wrote: "I actually was surprised that their coverage of some of the LIV guys has been good. Some of them wouldn’t get much pre tourney coverage before and won’t now. If they want more coverage it’s just like everyone else not in the elite group, be in contention."

The LIV Golf Nation account then fired shots at Rory McIlroy, which further caused a stir with golf fans.

A number of past Masters champions revealed what the tension was like between LIV and PGA at the Masters Champions Dinner on Tuesday night.

Three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson reportedly "sat near the end of the table and said nothing."
