Two new golf shoes have been launched by adidas both featuring the Torsion Support Bar which allows the heel and toe to rotate independently during the golf swing. The Torsion 3-Stripe and Torsion Saddle shoes, both target avid golfers.
Both models replace the top-selling the Tour Traxion shoe and adidas claims they represent the next generation of ultra lightweight, athletic footwear.
Brett Joyce, director of footwear for adidas Golf says the Torsion Support Bar's function is to permit the forefoot and heel to rotate independently and add to a player's stability and balance, especially when playing from an uneven lie.
New features also include a FitFoam insole that cradles the foot for a snug fit, adiPRENE heel cushioning, a textile lining to keep feet drier and a soft leather upper to reduce irritation and blistering.
The Torsion 3-Stripe is available in solid black, white / espresso and white / black, while the Torsion Saddle comes in white / espresso and white / black. Both models will be offered in wide widths with a one-year waterproof warranty. Price is expected to be £77.99 a pair.
