Yorkshireman plays RAZR Hawk Tour driver

Willett joins Callaway team

Danny Willett (23), a former World No. 1 amateur, has joined Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Alvaro Quiros as a Callaway golf staff player.

The Sheffield-based Englishman, is in his second full season as a professional and has already impressed with second place in the 2010 Alfred Dunhill Links and third in the Austrian Open, finishing 23rd in the Race to Dubai.

Willett, a chirpy Yorkshireman with Sam Torrance's experienced ex-caddie, Malcolm Mason on his bag, enjoyed an incredible amateur career that included appearances in the Walker Cup and wins at the English and Yorkshire Amateur Championships in 2007. He qualified through European Tour School in 2009 and posted eight top-10s during his rookie season.

“It’s exciting to join a brand producing major winners and Ryder Cup players and  I’m already enjoying the new Callaway products and have craftsmen like Roger Cleveland fine-tuning my irons and wedges,” he said.

Says Neil Howie, President of Callaway Golf Europe, Middle East and Africa: “Danny is a very talented and exciting prospect who is in tune with younger golfers and brings a huge amount of enthusiasm and energy to Callaway. I believe Callaway equipment will help Danny build on a superb 2010 season and propel him up the world rankings.”
