New ways to donate to the Seve Foundation

Cancer Research UK has set up two easy ways to donate to the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, following the Spaniard’s funeral at his home in Pedrena.

Donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/ballesteros or through JustTextGiving by texting SEVE11 followed by a space, followed by £5 (SEVE11 £5) to 70070*.

Cancers of the brain affect around 8,500 people each year in the UK and the Foundation has already raised more than £700,000 towards ambitious research that will help diagnosis and treatment of brain cancers in the future.

Harpal Kumar, chief executive of Cancer Research UK, said: “Seve Ballesteros will be much missed and remembered the world over for what he achieved both on and off the golf course.

“His personal battle against the disease, and his determination to help others through his Foundation, was truly inspirational.

“Seve’s experience brought a much needed spotlight onto brain cancer and Cancer Research UK was honoured to join forces with his Foundation to work towards our shared goal of beating brain cancer. It’s a huge challenge but one that Seve was committed to making a reality.”
